In 60 seconds, Swiss consumers purchase goods worth CHF 18,264.84 online and via mobile devices, with an average of 152 orders per minute, including 335 items. Online commerce is booming!
Carpathia and the Swiss Mail Order Association (VSV) have jointly compiled data on what happens every minute in online commerce in Switzerland. All figures are based on average values for consumer-to-consumer (B2C) sales of goods. Services such as tickets, flights, downloads, etc. are not included.
Every minute 285 parcels, 44 small goods shipments from Asia
285 parcels are in transit every minute, 34 of which are on their way back to the retailer as returns. When looking at international shipments, Asia is strongly represented compared to the rest of the world: 63 parcels per minute, 44 of which are from Asia.

More international payments by credit card than in Switzerland
When shopping with retailers abroad, credit cards (including PayPal) are used more frequently than in Switzerland. While 31 orders are paid for with credit cards per minute abroad, the number is almost a third lower in Switzerland, at 22 orders.
The most popular bill for purchases from Swiss retailers remains the 117 usages per minute bill.
